66 Pieces - 11.3%
Well I've been thinking a lot about whether or not to work more than half an hour at a time for the past few days, and I have come to a decision. When I started this project I set down three "Rules", but in hindsight I think that calling all three of them rules was a mistake. In hindsight, what I set down were 2 goals and 1 rule. The one and only unbreakable rule is that I only work on it for a maximum of 30 minutes per day. I feel that if I gave in on this, eventually I would just start working on it non-stop. Then I would finish too quick and the whole point of this adventure would be lost. So, I will continue to work only 30 minutes a day, but I will also continue to strive to meet my goal of twice a week when not underwater and finishing by the end of the year.
With that out of the way, today I set a new record for least pieces placed in a day. Only 66. I don't know why I am slowing down so much, but I am. I think that the best reason I can come up with is that as I progress, I find myself looking for more and more small pieces that are really hard to find. The first couple of days it was all relatively large pieces that were easy to find and all in the same bags. Now I am looking for things that there are only 4 of and they are in 4 separate bags all over the place. I spend most of my time looking for things and not that much time putting the Falcon together. I think that this trend of lowering piece count will continue until I get to the point where I have seen all the pieces enough that I know where they all are.
Lastly, today is my last day before I start working the good old swing shift for the next month or so for initial crit. For everyone who doesn't understand what swings means, I'll be putting in my 11 hour workday from 1300 to midnight. So hopefully I'll be able to meet my goals during this time, but I have other goals that I'm working on concurrently, most notably running most every day to drop some lbs. So if you don't hear from me for a week or so, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about the Falcon, I'm just working on myself first.

P.S. Looking the through the book I just found out that I am one step away from finishing the base. ARGHHH!!! Why did I have to hit my half hour point right there today!?
